Tyler had two pulled by the Oral Surgeon, he had minor cysts on the permanent teeth so to easier take care of them they had to pull the baby teeth then probe around and clean out the cysts, not pleasant. Alison has 5 teeth that the permanent teeth are in, yet the baby teeth are still hanging on, I always though when they got teeth in behind the baby teeth that is looked like shark teeth, but not true, her teeth right now truly look like a shark! She was due to get braces this summer, but they have to have those teeth out to allow the big teeth to fully come in before that can happen, so the new date for that is in December, until then she has been given until June 13th to have them out on her own or get pulled, so far she has one out!

Trevin had his two front teeth come out, but one came in behind the baby tooth so now when he bites down the bottom teeth come up in between the top teeth and hit the gums! Not a good thing, when he tries to pull with his thumb or push with his tongue the tooth into place over time, the bottom teeth coming up would knock it back behind, the Ortho said he has seen alot of these and if we do nothing and he gets hit in the side of the face it can easily break teeth right off! So we did the same as we did for Alison a few years ago and put glue dots on the back teeth so he can't bite down all the way. Basically it's extra filling material built up way high, and works great for now. Then to find out in his x-rays that the next teeth to the sides of his front teeth are almost in, but the baby teeth still have the full root, which tells us that the big teeth are coming in the pallet behind the teeth, so to avoid this we must pull 2 teeth on either side of the front teeth, because the single big tooth is as big as 2 baby teeth! Trevin always wants to have alot of missing teeth and they just grow in to fast, maybe we can give him holes for a little bit :o) he needs 2 on the bottom pulled two for the same reasons.
