We ended up parking the truck just off the road and then pushing (I drove since I am pregnant) the minivan the few feet it needed to finally get oer the hill. Only to find out the driveway into the cabin a few hundred yards away was even steeper!!! Getting in was down hill, but getting out two days later was going to be a challenge!! After our winners came up, the winner and 9 friends, they luckily had an easier time sortof, they had one 4 wheel drive vehicle and used it to shuttle everyone up to the cabin from the offices parking lot. I then later, after everyone was settled, tried to go park the truck down there too and they were willing to give me a ride back up, but it wouldn't start! They have rules against parking off the roads, driveways only, so it took several phone calls to find the right people to be sure the truck wouldn't get towed until Jarin and my Dad arrived to rescue us at the end in Dad's 4 wheel drive. It ended up being the starter and after replacing it twice in the nearly 12 years we have owned the truck, my Dad told Jarin he wasn't doing it again!! LOL! It requires dropping the entire tail pipe assembly.
We also would have never gotten the Van out with out them!!! Three of us pushing and my Dad strategically driving, after quite some time it finally made it to the top of the driveway, smoking tires and all!! (Yes I did push this time, don't worry, I know my limits)
The rest of the weekend went well, we cooked for the guests and relaxed with movies and scrapbooking in between meals, we made it to bed earlier than they did! Krista, Clarissa and I had a nice calm weekend and all enjoyed not having our sweet children for a few days. It was even Clarissa's birthday! What great Husbands we have to take on the kids and the houses for the weekend, jarin even made sure the kids did their chores and ran an errand for me dowtown to retrieve a lost jacket from the Children's musuem! What an Awsome guy I have here!
At the end of the weekend (Thursday - Saturday) we cleaned to place, with a vacumm that didn't suck and a dryer that took forever, but it was a beutiful Cabin in Heber City that the kind owner let us have for free! He only asks for advertising! This place sleeps 13 not including the pull out couch in the TV room, has a Hot tub, plus a jetted tub in the master! Also a full working kitchen with the cookware and dishes needed to make your meal. (Love the dishawasher, I have the Bosch model one step down from it!) and wonderful views all around. Here is a picture of the AcornWay Chalet!
And one of the Meals we made for them!! Pancakes/French toast eggs, sausage and bacon in the mornings, and I even made my Carmel Brownies for one fo the desserts! Although they are good they don't compare to Erik's Cheesecakes!! Yummy food the whole time!
And a couple shots of the area the other ladies Scrapped in......
