Zoo Day!

So some of the ladies from the LDS Baby Center board that I have been on since Alison was born decided to get together at the Zoo. sounded fun and I knew the little kids would like it so we decided to go too. I had to wait til Trevin was out of preschool and Johnny (the little boy I watch) was out of kindergarten, then we grabbed some lunch on the way up to the Hogle Zoo. My friend came also on her lunch break so she could walk around the Zoo with her baby (who I also watch) she carried him in the front pack and he fell asleep through some of it.

Johnny and Trevin had a great time, they are such good friends, Johnny loved the big wooden Elephant that makes lots of noises then sprays water out it's nose! He watched others do it then walked in front of that big Elephant and giddy he waited for the surprise spray that he knew was coming! CarliAnn wanted nothing to do with it, Trevin wasn't sure about it either but then as we said it was time to move on, he decided he wanted to get sprayed too. He was a bit scared so Johnny helped him by pushing him in front of the Elephant, he then turned his back to the animal saying he wanted it to spray his back. He jumped far when it sprayed and said the spray even hit the tree!

We then went to see the real Elephants and definitely got a bit of a show! As we watched with these little children the one of the two Elephants decided to as Trevin put it "go potty" that was not what we wanted to see! And boy did it stink after, the boys kept holding their noses! LOL!

As we left the Elephants I caught a glimpse of my friends from the Internet, we talked them and it was so fun to put screen names and Avatar's with real live people! They were headed off to find lunch and since we had already eaten we exchanged cell phone #'s and said we would meet up at the train in an hour. Then we continued on to see the monkeys, one had a cute white baby, the cougar, and bears, and Zebra's, and of course the Giraffe's, and Tiger. We then went to the train for a short ride and got a group picture of the ladies who I call my friends online. Hopefully we can get together again soon! One of the ladies not in the picture (she had to leave early) actually just moved into my ward recently, it was a surprise and so fun to get to know her and her family!

These friends along with all the others online are very special to me, they answer questions even dumb ones, come together to grieve with those who are in need, share recipes, teach skills, and share talents, taught me Digital Scrap booking, and helped me further my couponing skills, and are always there online when you need a friend and are home all alone! I love being a part of this wonderful community of LDS women! The board I am on is changing as of Monday to a read only status, and moving to a new format. Alot of the women don't like the new format and are not moving over, some are just using it as an excuse to cut down on their Internet time, I will go to the new boards and hope they will continue with the upgrades they have promised but I will miss the ones we will loose. It has been a huge help to me in my life as a mother, wife, Sister in the Church and helped my testimony to grow and strengthen, Farewell to the OBBC and Hello to the NBBC.
