DOG (Dutch oven gathering)

Today was another busy day, Jarin and our friend Erik took First place in their Dutch oven competition, making BBQ beef roast and Cheesecake. It was the first time they have worked together, and Jarin's first time ever. They had alot of fun and are gearing up for the Lehi one in 2 weeks!

Also Jarin's mom celebrated her mom's 60th birthday with a great party, lots of family, friends, and of course great food. I made the cake, it was fun to make the "Over the Hill" cake complete with Daisies, (pushing up daisies!!LOL). Jarin's sister did a fun game like the price is right, we got to guess what the price of things were in the year she was born, 1948. A loaf of bread was .10 cents, a yearly salary average was $3600. with a min wage of .40 cents. The fun was was a TV though, a color TV today averages $380.00 but in 1948 it costs $2495.00 the color TV had just come out, and about 1 in 10 had ever seen one! She also put signs all around the yard about getting old, a few of them said things like, 40 is the old of being young but 60 is the young of getting old! And a favorite was, if it were in dog years, I'd be dead right now!
She plans a great party!
