Look what I did....

I made a new blanket for my newest little nephew! It was a fun one to make and rather easy, it's called a strip quilt. Strips of cotton fabric (from a jelly roll) stitched on top of a piece of fabric. The cool pat is you have the quilt back, then batting then top all held together with basting spray then sew the pre-pinned strips and it quilts the whole thing together. Then you use strips for the edge as well, leaving all the raw edges showing and wash it so it frays like a rag quilt, but not as much fray as a flannel rag quilt. I love how it turned out! I will have to do that again, maybe I will make one for our silent auction for the CBYC Crop. (See side links)

I gave it to my Sister in law last night for the baby shower, which was a fun one. We played the candy bar memory game where you match up the different candy bars with the maternity type words they go with example, Daddy = Mr Goodbar, Conception = Skor, 11lb baby = whoppers, Dr bills = 100 Grand, and so on. The food was good too! And best of all she got alot of things she needed for the baby, onsies, blankets, baby bath and hooded towels and wash rags, diapers and more blankets of every kind.

I also had fun making little candy bar wrappers that go around the Hershey's miniatures, I didn't get a picture of the bowl of them though, we left them in the kitchen and the few men that came hung out in there and really enjoyed them!! LOL! There was enough for the ladies to each have one though! I didn't take them all over, so when I finish putting the wrappers on the rest I will take a picture, then my brother can have them on hand for friends and even take some up to the NICU nurses and Dr.'s.

Little Tyson is doing so well, they finally got to hold him on Thursday less than a week old and today she got to nurse him. He is such a strong little fighter, I can't wait till I can hold him too! And even babysit!

Tomorrow though I get to watch my neighbors baby, he is 2 months old, and very cute! Tons of blond hair with highlights of brown. She is returning to work tomorrow and though I offered to watch him someone else beat me to it, but I get him for a month till the other sitter moves and gets settled. Then I can have him when the other goes on vacation or is sick. I am excited to hold and cuddle him, he loves to cuddle, but then hand him back for a good nights sleep! Best of both worlds I think!

Alison is about the same as yesterday, she does great though about a half hour after her Lora tab she is great but it wears off to quickly, unfortunately that means no school tomorrow, she can't go when she is on Lora tab every 4 hours and begging for it by 3 hours. And she still can't eat anything that I could pack in a lunch bag! The pancakes didn't work well, nor did the potato soup, the rest of us loved it though! I have alot left over though since I doubled it so I will share with my brother so he doesn't have to cook for a night.
